With this exciting hands on set, students make a model of the Zika virus. The model includes the protein caspid, lipid envelope, RNA genome and attachment proteins.
Your students will learn about the Zika virus’ structure and lifestyle and provides a good starting point to discuss the challenges that were raised by Zika in the run up to the 2016 Brazil Olympics. It can also be used as an introduction to general virus structure for all levels of students.
