Receptor Tyrosine Kinases (RTKs) are important cell membrane receptors that cause cells to grow, divide and differentiate. They can cause cancer when they go wrong.

Your students will make a model of the RTK cell signalling pathway that leads to gene transcription. It covers the RTKs, MAP kinase pathway and shows how it causes cell to respond. The role of Ras and Raf as oncogenes that can lead to cancer is also shown. By using colourful models RTKs are shown in a clear way.
