The neuromuscular junction (or synapse) is where a motor neurone meets a muscle fibre. Your students will make this model and follow what happens when an action potential reaches the presynaptic membrane. Your students will move ions through the channels for themselves to see what happens.
Topics covered include structure of a neuromuscular junction, neurotransmitters, T tubules and sarcoplasmic reticulum.
