Teach how cliffs form on the coast with our paper model!

Coastal cliffs form due to wave erosion against the base of the rocks. The waves first cut a notch leaving an overhang and then this collapses to form a vertical cliff. Wave cut platforms may also form at the base of a cliff. This model shows you how this process happens.

Buy once, print forever!

First, your students build their model rocky shores out of the colourful parts. Then they use their models to look at the stages involved in producing a cliff and a wave cut platform. The model shows the importance of the tides in notch formation.

Includes full colour Powerpoint class presentation!

Takes about 30 minutes!

Dimensions (of largest landform): 12cm x 6cm x 4cm / 4.5in x 2in x 1.5in.

Download includes: instructions, model templates and Powerpoint presentation.

All you need: paper, scissors and tape.
