A great way to understand the Golgi and the lysosome!
The Golgi apparatus is the final processing and shipping centre for proteins and other molecules made in the cell. The Golgi modifies proteins received from the endoplasmic reticulum and adds a destination address label so they are sent to the correct place. They are then packaged into vesicles and sent on their way.

Our model shows how proteins are modified, transported and dispatched by the Golgi. The model even includes membranes that fuse together!
A lysosome is like an unexploded bomb inside the cell. It is filled with enzymes that break down food particles, ingested bacteria and worn out organelles. By controlling the pH inside the lysosome, the cell protects itself from these enzymes.
Our model shows how this pH is created, how the lysosome and a food vesicle fuse and then release the breakdown products.
