Show how iron is extracted from its ore with our 3D model!

Your students can learn all about what happens inside a blast furnace with our paper model! Explain the chemical reactions that happen inside and how waste products are made. The model is ideal for showing how different products are then separated.

Buy once, print forever!

Perfect for use in class or for distance learning at home!

Your students first build their easy to make paper model of a blast furnace. They use this to see how a blast furnace extracts iron from iron ore. The model shows the raw materials used (iron ore, coke, hot air, limestone) and what is produced (iron, slag, waste gases).

They then make model atoms and electrons to look in more detail at the chemical reactions that take place. This includes combustion of coke, reduction of iron by carbon and carbon monoxide and removal of impurities using limestone.

Includes full colour Powerpoint class presentation!

Takes about 30 minutes! Dimensions: 18cm x 21cm / 7in x 8.5in

Download includes: instructions, model templates and Powerpoint presentation.

All you need: paper, scissors and tape.
