Our sense of taste is important to help us find nutritious food and avoid potentially toxic substances. Our model shows how taste buds in your tongue collect sensory information and send it to your brain.

The model covers the structure of the tongue, location of taste buds on papillae, structure of a taste bud and how the information is sent to the brain for processing.

After making their models, your students use them to look at the parts of the tongue, where taste buds are located and the nerve pathways to the brain.
