Teach translocation of sucrose in the phloem in a new way!

Our colourful and interactive model shows how sucrose is transported within a plant.

Download and print as many times as you want - forever at no extra cost!

Your students make the specialised plant cells then use them to make a stem. They can then follow how sucrose made by photosynthetic cells (source) is moved by phloem sieve-element cells and transported through the stem to root cells (sink). Students can use the model the pressure-flow hypothesis.

Covers: phloem structure, companion cells, source and sink, pressure-flow hypothesis, plant cell specialisation.

Includes full colour Powerpoint class presentation!

Takes about 20 minutes. Dimensions (l x w): 26cm x 18cm/10in x 7in.

Download includes: instructions, colour & mono model templates, and Powerpoint file.

All you need: paper, scissors and tape.
