Teach human evolution with our paper model of a fossilised skull!

Australopithecus are a group of extinct primates closely related to humans. Such human relatives are called hominins. They first evolved over 3 million years ago in Africa. Several Australopithecus species have been identified and we look at the species Australopithecus africanus with this model.

The model shows a fossilised A. africanus skull. It can be used to look at the features that tell us Australopithecus are related to both humans and apes. The skull show us our large brains evolved after we began to walk upright and gives clues about the diet eaten by Australopithecus.

Great to compare and contrast with our human skull model!

Includes full colour Powerpoint class presentation!

Takes about 30 minutes! Dimensions 13cm x 13cm x 11cm / 5in x 5in x 4in

Download includes: class Powerpoint with instructions and colour & mono model templates.

All you need: paper, scissors, tape
