Transistors make the digital world work!

Transistors are the most important component in a computers. They can be used to store information or make simple decisions. Modern transistors are tiny at just 30 atoms across! The 1956 Nobel Prize for physics was awarded to their development.

Buy once, print forever!

Perfect for use in class or for distance learning at home!

Your class first make their paper model of a transistor out of the colourful parts. They use it to see how three semiconductor layers are needed to make a transistor and learn the role of the emitter, collector and base contacts.

Next, your students use their models to see how turning changing the current to the transistor enables it to switch on and off. They visualise the current this by moving electrons in the model. Complements our diode and solar cell models.

Includes full colour Powerpoint class presentation.

Takes about 30 minutes!

Dimensions: 37cm x 21cm / 14in x 8in

Download includes: instructions, colour and black & white templates and Powerpoint presentation.

All you need: paper, scissors and tape.
